Jesse - Born and raised in Newport, RI – Jesse grew up sailing the waters of Newport Harbor and Narragansett Bay.  His first paying job was working alongside Seven Star Marine’s very own Teak Ackman manning launches for Oldport Marine.  In his late teens and early twenties, Jesse delved into the world of competitive sailing with W-Class and Interlodge, traveling throughout the Caribbean and Mediterranean.  Ready to settle down and fuel his creative aspirations, Jesse paved his own way into the artistic realm through metal fabrication.  In his free time Jesse enjoys hanging with his dog “Tug” and tinkering with motorcycles and gear of all descriptions.  His current project involves restoring a 1941 Chesapeake Oyster Bay boat.  Email:

Orlando - Orlando grew up as one of 13 children in Guatemala before pioneering his way to America.  As a seasoned stone-worker and marble installer by trade, Orlando brought years of artisanal experience and aptitude to Seven Star Marine Engineering.  Over the past 8 years, Orlando has honed his artistic capabilities in fabrication, welding and finishing.  He has since acquired the well-deserved title of Orlando “The Main Mando” by his adoring fans and workshop compatriots.  As a resident Newporter, he enjoys spending time with his family, drawing, wearing big belt buckles with pointy cowboy boots and relinquishing to a fine tequila cocktail.  Email:

Robo - With over 15-years’ experience in the yachting, sailing and rigging field Christopher “Robo” brings a wealth of knowledge and Aussie spunk to Seven Star Marine Engineering.  Robo first landed in Newport, RI as First Mate on the famed 1934 America’s Cup J-Class yacht ‘Endeavour’ 10 years ago.  With other impressive boats such as ‘Rebecca’, ‘Windcrest’, ‘Gracie’ and ‘Axia’ on his resume, Robo not only has a talent for racing but also a keen understanding of the inner workings of these fine ships.  After the birth of his first child, Robo stepped away from full-time competitive sailing and took to refits and rigging projects with the esteemed Tim Leary.   You can find Robo still racing part-time with Team ‘Phaedo,’ relishing his family in his leisure-time and relaxing in his Lycra-wear.            Email:

Sue - Hailing from Lancaster County, PA, Sue became enchanted by Newport’s seaside charm during family vacations with her cousins - the Ackmans.  Her love for the area grew as she spent her college summers working alongside the Ackman family at Oldport Marine.  After university, Sue became an established member of the Newport community teaching mathematics at the local high school.  As her family grew, Sue switched career paths from teaching to bookkeeping in order to accommodate her change in priorities.  Sue has been bookkeeping at Seven Star Marine for the past 6 years.  In her spare time she enjoys painting, sewing, walking and spending time with her two teenage children and husband.  Email:

Lisette - Originally from the Dutch Caribbean, Lisette has lived on Aquidneck Island for over 10-years working closely with her family in the hotel industry.  As a recent addition to the Seven Star team, Lisette is excited to put her years of sales and marketing experience to the test and help grow the company further.   When Lisette is not at the office you can find her at the gym, running a successful personal training company or at home with her lovely husband and two young children.  In her “spare time” Lisette enjoys creating jewelry and leather goods.  Email:
